But a supernatural weapon of mass destruction has been unleashed-and it doesn't distinguish between wizard and vampire, Red Court or White Court, Venatori or civilian! Can Harry and his half-brother Thomas accomplish the impossible and contain the otherworldly beast before it devours thousands, while simultaneously battling the bloodthirsty Red Court? Their long night is almost over - but a new and darker one may just be starting...
Jim Butcher The Dresden Files War Cry #5 of 5 Digital Exclusive Edition eBook Jim Butcher Mark Powers Carlos Gomez
This is the fifth and last comic-issue in "Jim Butcher's Dresden Files: War Cry," a 5-part mini-series published by Dynamite Comics. It's written by Jim Butcher & Mark Powers, with pencils by Carlos Gomez, and takes place some four months after "Dead Beat," the 7th novel in the Dresden Files series. In the final instalment of "War Cry," Harry and his team (aided by Thomas Raith) go all-out in a last ditch attempt to prevent Baron Bravosa and his army of Red Court vampires from getting their hands on the Shoggoth, a supernatural horror straight out of Lovecraft. So, what is Harry’s solution when he has completely used up his bag of tricks and their shelter is about to be run over by a horde of bloodthirsty vampires? Well, there’s this old idiom “be careful what you wish for,” as Bravosa is about to find out…
This series sure ends with a bang. But story-wise, this 43-page comic (with 33 pages of story) was a bit of a disappointment. Maybe I set my expectations too high, but while reading this story, I kept comparing it to those old Scooby Doo cartoons in which our heroes are always being chased by the Big Scary Monster - but never caught. And Harry’s final solution to get rid of the Shoggoth, while inventive, left me with a feeling of: huh? Is that all it took? So, if possible, I would have given this one 3.5 stars. Anyway, as with all the previous issues in this series, the art by Carlos Gomez is very crisp and clean; he is especially good at depicting action. All in all, this mini-series was a very entertaining read and I sure hope this team will get together again for more comic adventures in the Dresden universe.

Jim Butcher The Dresden Files War Cry #5 of 5 Digital Exclusive Edition eBook Jim Butcher Mark Powers Carlos Gomez Reviews
A+
Love all the Dresden books - waiting for a new one!
This is good - just not what I was expecting when I ordered it from my phone
Good story -- Jim is ALWAYS a strong writer. Turns out I really don't like graphic novels after all. Who knew? I much prefer his more in-depth novels. They're beyond terrific!
In this book we learn what someone from the white council is breaking the same laws they created. Will the warden's triumph over the vampires and last till daylight or will they fall in the night.
Good story by a great author.
I love just about anything Jim Butcher does and the illustrations give a clear picture to go with those who dwell in Dresden's Chicago. The short lived SyFi series did what they could but... Other than Harry and Bob the characters were just too different! (Bob was too, but in a good way) Murphy is a blond, and Molly, Leahshide and others never seen. This is so true to the story as I have grown to love it.
